Another important milestone has been delivered for Greensand Future. Bofort is proud to announce the successful completion of a project for INEOS Energy, delivered through close cooperation between INEOS Energy, Bofort, BT Solutions and Blue Water Shipping.

Bofort arranged and coordinated the project on the back of supplying the T75 ISO tanks used for the CO₂ operations. BT Solutions was responsible for the on-site commissioning activities, including purging, rinsing, cooldown and operational execution. Using its in-house engineered warm water bath vaporizer and experienced operators, BT Solutions ensured the safe and efficient preparation for service of the first four 1,000 cbm SAGA liquid CO₂ storage tanks. Blue Water Shipping managed the logistics and on-site handling operations.

This project marks one of the final phases in commissioning the Greensand CO₂ terminal in the Port of Esbjerg, which enables the supply of liquid CO₂ from industrial emitters for permanent offshore storage. For all parties involved it shows how technical expertise, operational excellence, high quality ISO tanks and partnership between specialised partners help bring carbon capture and storage projects into operation safely, efficiently and on schedule.

For Bofort, this project carries special significance. In 2022, Greensand consortium partner Blue Water Shipping appointed Bofort as exclusive supplier of 80 T75 ISO tanks for the injection tests, which demonstrated the feasibility of safe cross-border CO₂ transport, injection and storage. We are proud that our ISO tanks played a key part in moving the project from pilot to investment and commissioning of the impressive SAGA CO₂ terminal in Esbjerg.
